Indian food is so unique in taste?
India is a land of
multiple cultures and the cultural diversity reflects in the different food
cuisines. It is difficult to tell the variety of food culture followed in
India. Tourists from different places of the world come to India to taste the
variety of cuisines available throughout the country. From north to south, east
to west, every state use unique blend of spices to ensure that the food taste
delicious.
Cultural
diversity
In southern India, rice and lentils are the main
food. You can find a variety of dishes such as idli, dosas, sambhar, coconut
chutney and many more interesting foods. However, in northern India, the
cuisines include a variety of naan, roti, parantha, all made from wheat flour.
You may even find spicy and tangy curries to compliment the tandoori variety.
Eastern India is famous for a wide range of sweets. You can try the delicious
roshogolla, sandesh, and many more other variant. Unlike other parts of India,
the western cuisines are very different. Some varieties include spicy taste and
some sweet.
The
use of spices
Indian cooking is all about variety of spices. The
most commonly used spices are cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, bay leaves, cumin
seeds, fenugreek seeds, asafetida, and many other herbs and spices are used.
Ginger, garlic, coriander leaves are also commonly used in the various Indian
cuisines. Indians love to bring different taste in the food, and thus scrapped
coconut, coconut milk, curry leaves, poppy seeds and mustard seeds are used.
The spices can be used with any food item. Biryani is a rice delicacy in which
you can find many different variety of whole spices.
